Sunday Morning Classes

at First Presbyterian Church

Classes begin at 9:45am every Sunday unless otherwise publicized.

Infants – 2 years

Childcare is provided beginning at 9:30 a.m. The nursery is located on the first floor of the Education Building. 1 and 2 year-olds meet in the first floor toddler room at the end of the hall.

Children and Younger Youth

This age group meets on the 2^nd Floor of the Christian Education Building. Most classes use the PC(USA) curriculum, "We Believe." The second and third grade class is beginning a worship education program called "Godly Play." The sixth, seventh and eighth graders are using a "Faith Alive" study of Christian denominations, that involves field trips and guest speakers.

High School

Grades 9-12 meet in the youth room, which is located beneath the sanctuary (take the stairs or elevator) to study "Which Way to God" - World Religions. The class is under the leadership of the Youth Minister.

Adults

Lectionary Class: Four scriptures each Sunday are designated as the lectionary texts. This group reads, reviews, and discusses the texts seeking their meanings and implications for lives of faith. This class meets in the East Parlor of the church house.

Journeys: This is an informal discussion-oriented class focusing on Bible Study and life application. This year's class will be studying the Psalms. This group meets on the second floor of the Christian Education Building.

Faith and Community: Contemporary issues, especially as they relate to Christian theology and social justice, are the primary focus of this class. Presentations, discussions, and readings are the mainstay for this group that meets in Watts-Hill Hall.

Children are always welcome in worship.

Worship bags for children are available in the foyer prior to worship.

Nursery care for children 3-6 years of age is provided during worship.

on the second floor of the Education Building. These children join worship following the sermon for the remainder of the service.

Childcare for infants - 2 years continues in the designated rooms.
